GeMa trifft auf "unsere Sinneswelt."

GeMa meets "our sensory world."

In our new stock blog we would like to introduce further cooperation partners:

Yvonne and Melanie Schaider are qualified teachers for the disabled. In 2015, both completed the course on sensory integration and sensorimotor perception support in Vienna. Sensorimotor perception support is a holistic approach that specifically focuses on our five senses, self-perception and balance in combination with movement. Yvonne & Melanie pass on this valuable knowledge to teachers, parents, caregivers and interested parties.
The two of them offer their workshops with great enthusiasm and a lot of joy. They include a good mix of theory and many practical exercises. We are very pleased that the GeMa stick is used in the workshops and is also useful and well received in their work with the children.

We received the following feedback from Melanie and Yvonne:

"We noticed that walking with a stick makes introverted children more alert and active children calmer. We also noticed that balance is regulated, which has a positive effect on the concentration and stamina of children and also on us adults. In addition, muscle tone and musculature are regulated. Self-perception is significantly improved, which promotes body schema, which helps to feel and experience the environment. A secure perception of one's own body and thus a mature body schema is an important prerequisite for the development of many school skills such as spatial perception and concentration. Depth perception sensitizes the feet and hands, which has a significant influence on sensory abilities and movement coordination.
By walking with a stick and rolling your hands over the stick, both halves of the brain are connected and fine motor skills are also significantly improved.
Due to the improved perception of the feet and hands, the gait and pen holding changes. Since we are all walking barefoot less and less, walking with a stick is a good alternative. This way, the arch of the foot can be built up, which is good for posture, and the foot muscles are also strengthened. In our experience, the GeMa stick is a holistic, simple, effective aid and can be used in many different ways. The stick exercises fit well into our program, which aims to optimize sensory perception and strengthen the children's cognitive abilities in order to lay the foundation for stress-free, successful learning."

If you would like to learn more about this topic or meet Yvonne and Melanie personally, the basic workshop "Body Perception" will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2024 in the gymnasium of the VS Maria Saal.

This workshop will help you to better understand the needs of children and to respond to them with more understanding and support.
